TransCast charges 0.5 credit for each started 30 seconds, equivalent to one credit per full minute when duration lands exactly on the minute. For multiple target languages, estimate each language as a separate job. Calculate credits first, then read current plan prices from the live pricing page rather than relying on an old dollar figure.

Credit calculator

Use the verified source duration, not a rounded label from a video player.

credits = ceil(total seconds / 30) × 0.5 × target-language jobs

Source duration One target language Three target languages
30 seconds 0.5 credit 1.5 credits
60 seconds 1 credit 3 credits
5 minutes 5 credits 15 credits
12 minutes 10 seconds 12.5 credits 37.5 credits

The final row rounds 730 seconds up to 25 half-minute billing units. TransCast verifies media duration before starting and shows a trusted quote in the project settings.

What the credit covers

A completed job includes transcription, segment translation, voice-matched speech generation, timing alignment, a dubbed MP4, and a bilingual SRT. Applying a glossary and choosing whether to burn subtitles into the MP4 do not create a separate output fee.

Current subscription and top-up prices can change. Use the pricing shown at checkout for the currency, renewal period, credit allowance, and availability that apply to the purchase.

Costs the headline rate does not capture

The credit estimate is only the processing budget. A publishable localization may also require:

  • preparing names, terminology, and pronunciations;
  • a fluent or native-language review;
  • checking speaker changes and fast dialogue;
  • fixing the source audio or recording a cleaner version;
  • uploading, caption testing, and platform-specific metadata.

Course catalogs should budget by lesson and market. See AI translation for online courses.

Reduce avoidable rework

Create the glossary before the first run, start with a representative short video, and review that result before processing more material. The technical tutorial glossary workflow is a useful preparation checklist.
